This week in science I got in a group and I did some research about oil. Then me and my group made a poster about it, then we did a presentation about it. The presentation could have been a little better if we had we had a little more time to put some information on the poster. I also read an article about H.I.P.P.O. I'm not talking about the animal hippo. I'm talking about Habitat loss Introduced species Pollution Population growth and Over-consumption. I mostly payed attention to Population growth because that was the most interesting to me. That's what I did this week in science.
This week in science I learned about oil. I learned that we make deodorant, crayons, ink and a lot of stuff we have today. Those things are all made with oil. I also learned that more than half of the U.S produces oil. The article said that thirty one states produce oil. I also learned that using oil causes air pollution. I also learned that oil is a nonrenewable substance. That means that it can not be replaced with any other substance. Something different that I learned that the Earth's population is too big. I seen a video and they said about every fifteen to twenty years a million more people gets added on to the Earth's population. I also learned that one out of those three people don't have a good water system or any other resources that humans need to survive. Maybe since that's the case hopefully the Earth's population will drop little by little.That's what I learned this week in science.

I think if we were to take out all of the plants and seal the tank then the spider would die because the plants breathe out oxygen and the spider need oxygen to survive. I think if we were to add five more spiders then we would have to add more plants so there would be more oxygen around in the tank that their breathing in. I think if there was never fruit flies then the spider would die of starvation. And plus the spider wouldn't have no energy because the spider needs its food to get energy.

TWIS #12
This week in science i didn't really do much. This week I made a little booklet for my spider observation project. I made spider man as the cover page of it. I put like the biotic and abiotic things of my spider tank in it. I put the definitions of the different symbiotic relationships and I also put examples of it. I also put in some information of the cellar spider like what does it eat, what environment it lives in, what predators does the cellar spider have you know simple questions like that. I also fed my spider a little bit of food. You can tell that he was hungry because it started going crazy all around the tank when we started putting the fruit flies in. I'm sure he was going crazy because of starvation. I also had to do a couple of packets with things that have to do with consumers, producers, food pyramids stuff like that. Thats what I did this week in science.
This week in science I learned what was mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism. Mutualism is when both organisms get a benefit to something. So like its good for both organisms. Commensalism is when it benefits one animal but it don't really do anything to the other animal. Parasitism is when one animal gets a benefit to but it would be bad for the other animal. I also learned that the cellar spider eats fruit flies. I knew they eat some type of insect. I also learned that the cellar spider starts to create their web fast. I haven't seen a spider create their web any faster then the cellar spider. But then again I didn't really see any other spider create their web. One thing about the cellar spider is that I want to be able to see the web. The web is very thin and clear. That's what I learned this week in science.

TWIS #11
This week in science I made an ecosystem for a spider. I felt like that was fun and easy. I didn't really need to put that much stuff in it. I went to Seward Park and got some plants, a branch, and a couple of worms that I digged out of the dirt. I also accessed my priar knowledge on some words that I guess would have to do with the ecosystem that the spider was going to live in. I say that was the hardest thing I did this week. I heard of some of the words before but last year in science I was bored most of the time so I didn't pay attention that much last year. I also answered some questions on what I need in the ecosystem and what I already have in the ecosystem. I also listed which one was a organism and which ones that's not an organism. That's what I did this week in science.

I was surprised when my group had to put rocks under the dirt. At that moment I was like do some people do that to their pet spiders? That had me thinking for a little while. I also learned that there are green worms. I always thought that there was only pink worms under the dirt. That was another surprising moment for me. I also learned that there are a lot of plants in seward park. I thought most parks around here would just have grass and trees. Another surprising moment for me was that I barely saw any twigs in seward park. I can't believe that there are tons of plants in that park but barely any twigs. This week in Science #10
These last couple of weeks in science I have done a lot of things. Me and my groups were thinking of some ideas about stuff for waste. We have came up with a lot of ideas such as fish eating garbage because we pollute the water and when we eat them were eating garbage. Another one is the world being tossed in a garbage can because most people don't care about the world so they just throw their garbage on the floor. Another is when a guy turns his sink faucet and nothing but garbage comes out. We went with the fish eating garbage and when we eat it we eat garbage. We also came up with a slogan. Our slogan is don't do it and you won't consume it. I have also gone outside and asked people some survey questions that the class has came up with. I thought it was going to be awkward but when I actually did it I was having fun. Next time I do that again I want to be able to get answers from more people because last time I was only able to get four people to answer the survey questions. I also seen some red wrigglers when jamie was here. I got to touch them they feel all soft and gooey. We also tested three different types of water. That's what I did these last couple of weeks in science.

On Our Rader: Alien Plants in Antartica
Poa annua was found near the anarctic research centers. Scientist introduces alien plants and animals that are likely to spread when the climate warms up. Scientists have found out that their boots and clothes had nonnative plant seeds. The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) says it will delay controversial water pollution for Florida lakes.
This article tells me that we would have some strange animals coming out these alien plants and it would effect the world in a bad way. I don't think this article is true because I don't believe anything that is alien related. The parts I dislike is the part about alien plants because I don't think there is such a thing as alien plants. Another part I disliked about this article is animals coming out of plants. That's like the fakest thing I have ever heard. I do not like anything about this article because I believe everything their saying is fake
